I have continued with my sock knitting, its very addictive (although I think I’d better knit something else after this set…I have a couple of Milo Vests in mind). This one is shorter than the last two (here and here) sets and it has a tweed pattern for the top half. I quite like it and I LOVE the wool (see it pre-knitted in this post – scroll down a bit), got it on Etsy here (XbrandWools). The shop description of this wool says:
“Kaleidoscope” is a fingering/sock weight yarn that has been hand dyed by me. This is a 3 ply superwash merino/bamboo sock yarn that weighs 100g and contains 400+ yards of pure knitting pleasure.”
I would agree, its really lovely to knit with and after I get through my stash of sock wool I would happily purchase more from her.
I’m happy with how this turned out although I sort of combined two patterns (Harris Tweed Socks by Ali Green and using the instructions in simple form from the wonderful Silver’s Sock Class) so I’m hoping I can replicate it and remember (or work out) where I changed things. I’m not that good at writing it down as I go, might need to get better at that. So, on to sock number two!
