Its been 20 days since I last blogged and I don’t mind a bit! I’ve been way too busy relaxing at my parents place up here in Cairns to blog! Taken a few nice photos, been to a few nice places but spent a lot of time playing games on the ipad, sitting around, watching the tennis and watching movies with family.
In time I’ll share some photos and experiences from this time around up here but for now I wanted to share with you some very cool bugs I’ve managed to photograph this time. The weather was very un-rainy season-ish until this weekend just past so we were able to get out and about and take a fair few shots. My favourite places for that here are the Botanical Gardens and the Crystal Cascades. I always see new things every time we go there. I love to walk slowly and really look. Its when I do this I notice just how detailed God was when creating the world. Here are a few shots I took in those places, most of these are from the Botanical Gardens. All shots were taken on my new camera and in the last week or two.
A yellow cricket
Purple Crow Butterfly (the top side of their wings are iridescent purple).
A type of weevil
Blue Dragonfly (taken at the Crystal Cascades)
Butterfly (Not sure of its type)
I know bugs are not everyone’s cup of tea but for me, as long as its not a spider I’m resonably ok with it. To be honest, I don’t see a ton of spiders here, mostly Christmas spiders or more common types. There are plenty of butterflies, moths, cicadas, grasshoppers and crickets, weevils, caterpillars, millipedes, wasps and other common bugs here to make up for it. I promise to get on with sharing a few more insights, ,maybe this week, maybe next week (when the girls and I return to Sydney). For now, I’m hoping to go out and take a few more photos before we return to reality!
