Little L is learning new things all the time. I showed her how to put dots on her little playdough bear to make them look like eyes. She then went on to add ears, feet, a belly button and more. Such fun to see them learn.

Stars all over the floor have to be evidence that some form of either creativity or mischief has occurred. Really its a combination of the two as Miss K was quite tired when she started gluing a collage this afternoon. I’ve decided that Miss K is at her happiest when she’s creating, she sings sometimes!
Cars
Last week the girls and I went outside and they started driving their little cars around. I saw a piece of chalk nearby so drew a few lines on the ground as road markers. Then I drew a stop sign on the chalk board. That got me thinking about traffic lights so I got out some cardboard and coloured paper and made some of those. It went on and on, Miss K wanted to fill her car up with petrol so I wrote ‘petrol’ on a box and put it on the garden tap, the nose being part of the setup. Then she wanted to park her car so I dew some parking lines for them. Finally they wanted to wash their cars so I got them a bucket each and some water and sponges. It was all so easy and I’ve left it all out there for them to play with whenever we go outside. Such an easy game which you could make even more elaborate if you wanted to.

Have you ever tasted one of these? This is a pempino and we have 4 or 5 in the fridge at the moment. We have a large pempino plant out the front and usually the bugs get to it. I think these are a bit like a melon but I suppose I’ll have to try one to see.

What can I say about this? Cute huh. Little L has Miss K’s hat on, actually its an adults size hat I think. Kids are funny aren’t they!

This captured my attention today in our garden. It almost seems that the wisteria has reached out and grabbed a hold of this flowerless daffodil plant (due to a certain toddler pulling off the flower). Sometimes I think this is how I feel, grabbed by something bigger, all the while knowing it could strangle me if I don’t get rid of it. Sounds deep and serious I know but thats me today. I’m glad I have a heavenly Father who, as my hubby did to for this plant, comes along and yanks the strangler away and allows us to breathe.
Friday Focus – Sept 24
Once again I find that I don’t quite know what to say about this week. Its been a tough one. I was in the ER earlier this week because of vision problems and it turned out to be stress related. A bit embarrassing really but I suppose it highlights my need to sort myself out. Along the way however there have been some very poignant verses that have ‘popped up’ (I don’t believe in coincidence). This one for instance has stood out:
Isaiah 43
1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
I don’t feel the need to add anything else. If you pray, pray for us. : )
I’d love to read what you’ve learnt this week, feel free to join in on the blog hop and use the banner at the top.

The spring weather has seen my girls asking to go outside. Miss K even said this morning ‘its a nice day outside, can we go out?’. First we had a little picnic on the front patch of grass, then they girls drove around in their cars and I marked out a few signs and road markings for them. I might write more about that next week for the Childhood 101′s ‘we play’ post. I’ve been skipping muffin tin Monday and our theme for this week and most of last week due to some family stresses and the need to relax a bit. Hopefully I can return to it soon.

This is how Little L entertained herself for a while today. She walked around the backyard until I stopped her! she thought it was hilarious! Cheeky monkey!
