Muffin Tin Swap

A little while ago I signed up to join in with a swap between Mums who participate in Muffin Tin Monday. I haven’t posted any MTM pics for a few weeks on here but we have actually been doing it on and off.

My swap partner was Hannah from Counting My Blessings. She sent us a fantastic package this week. Here are the photos of what she sent:

Thanks Hannah, you sent some gorgeous things (I’m fairly sure you made the toothpicks yourself, thanks!). We used the sandwich cutter today and it looked great, they asked for more:

Photo of the Day – August 2

These are a couple of cushions I made the girls the other day. I was given some Dora fabric and hadn’t decided what to do with it but they found it. Miss K said I should make cushions so I thought ‘why not!’. They love them and both of them sleep with them in their beds now. I’m not that experienced with sewing but didn’t use a pattern, just worked out the best way to put ends on them. I made Little L a skirt on the same day but will save that for a different day. I’m a bit of a fan of spontaneous sewing I think.

Due to my hard drive dying a slow death I am doing my post today for yesterday and then I’ll do today’s posts later.

This weekend was about one thing. IKEA. Yes, we finally were able to go and get the drawers for the girls room and then spent two afternoons putting them together. The other week I mentioned that I didn’t get sales at the market and I had been hoping to purchase the drawers that way. Well God provided in a different way (thank you).

The exciting thing is that this kick starts an entire new phase of our lives. Starting with the drawers we are switching Miss L into Miss K’s room and slowly turning her room into my art room/computer room/storage area. Its a big shuffle as it involves three rooms of the house (and there are literally only 5 rooms including the laundry and toilet).

A friend gave us a toddler bed over the weekend too and Miss L slept in a bed for the first time last night. No problems at all. She was so excited to be in a bed at last (her cot broke a few months ago and she’s been in the portacot!!). Thank you Stacey for the bed, I really appreciate it!

As soon as the girls saw the drawers at the stage above they both climbed in and proclaimed ‘we’re in jail!!’ Later they made up a shop game with only one $500 monopoly note, three plastic door stops and the ikea instruction manual (see below). I’m always amazed at their imaginations and how quickly they make a game out of almost nothing!
