I would really like to start painting again. Before I start however I feel like a need some inspiration. One of the problems I have is canvas size, I can only really handle tiny canvases at the moment due to our house size and having a baby and 3 yr old around so the subject matter needs to be appropriate. In the past I’ve focused on topics such as portraiture, Africa, rocks and anything figurative but I’d love to start fresh. If you have any suggestions for where to find this inspiration from I’m all ears!
Here’s a few of my paintings from the last 10 years or so, showing the range of subject and medium. I have tried my hand at oil, pastel, acrylic, mixed media, goache and watercolour. I think I’m pretty much stuck on acrylics for now as they are the easiest for me to work with in my current environment;

train stations, eg. very multi-cultural
bread from a bakery, or the bakery itself
shoes,
thats all I have to muster for now, catch up with you in a week or so.

Why don’t you get your mojo flowing with some abstract? Use your beautiful beads as inspiration? Just let the colours flow, perhaps thinking of your garden… flowers flowing in the breeze? I really need to take my own advice here! Maybe we can inspire each other and start a paintng ‘theme/challenge’ for one another?

[...] For a long time now I’ve wanted to get out my paints. I used to paint all the time, I even have a BA Arts (painting) and every supply under the sun. I have piles of paint (oil, acrylic, watercolour, goache, pastel etc etc), plenty of canvases (some new, some left over from uni days) and I own about four easels. I have sketches to go by, drawings galore and yet I haven’t really gotten started. I even blogged about this earlier this year here. [...]
