Again, I didn’t post for IF last week because we were away but we’re back so here’s my entry for this week’s theme ’sticky’…. this is another one of those pieces that I did while playing around and trying to loosen up. Done in watercolour it reminds me of those lollies called ‘traffic lights’ which have a similar consistency to lollypops, a see through quality. Fun anyway!

I missed Photo Friday last week as we were down south but we drove home today so here’s my entry. The theme is Happiness Is… and my answer is…being three.

It was inevitable and I was waiting for it to happen, yes, Keziah got my cold! It’s the very first time she’s been sick so last night she woke up every hour due to a sore throat and I ended up going to bed at 6am. Oh well. I’m not worried as it will help build her immunity but it’s just another lesson for me in what to do and I’ve become well acquainted with the chemist down here in Dunsborough!

We got this vapouriser thing that you plug into the wall. Cost $10 and has 5 sachets of the eucalyptus oil and something else that helps her breathe. Each sachet lasts 8 hrs so that’s a well spent $10 I think. Anyway, all these things to learn when you’re new parents!

Been an interesting ‘break’ really, first Kez decided to teeth and one of her front top teeth cut through, then I had 2 days break where she slept really well before the second top tooth cut through. Then I got sick, then she’s gotten sick and we leave in a few days!! I suppose you never really do get a break when your a Mum do you!

This week we’re staying in lovely old farm cottage in Dunsborough. We have a great fire to keep the place warm (it’s winter down under!) but it seems that my extra sensitive nose didn’t take well to smoke from the fire. I got a sore throat at the start of this week from the smoke which went away after a few days but left me sounding like I had a cold. Then last night I was convinced that this had turned into sinusitis which is the only sort of sickness I get but usually around spring. I haven’t had a cold in a few years and I can’t remember having the flu since we’ve been married.

Well, after taking some sinus tablets and them being ineffective I’ve decided that it’s developed into a cold and am now on cold and flu tablets. They’re working well enough for me to be able to do the usual things but I’m worried that Kez will get it now! Erk! I hope not. If she does, it will be the first time she’s been sick.

It should clear up in a day or so which is good because we’ve still got till the end of the week in the country! I’m not letting it ruin my break though.

On another note, I’ve skipped photo Friday and Illustration Friday this week, mainly because we’re on holidays and I don’t have the energy.

I hope you’re all well out there by the way, oh and our brochures are looking like going to the printers in the next week at last!

We’ve been enjoying our time in Dunsborough and I thought I’d share some photos from today. We walked up the road today to an ice-cream place that’s got an emu that eat’s ice-cream. We didn’t share any with him but Keziah definately enjoyed watching him. Here’s some shots:

I have been writing to as many different companies as I can on the internet and asking for samples of their products. I’ve done this before and quite often you get all sorts of little sachet’s of everything from face cream to chocolate pudding but this time is different. I read somewhere that sachet’s of these products (especially toiletries) work really well for Schapelle Corby.
So far I’ve got a lovely little collection going and when I’ve got a few more I’ll pop them in the post for her. Why am I blogging about this? Two reasons, to remind you that she’s still in that jail cell and to see if anyone else out there would be willing to do the same thing. Anyway, I’ll leave that idea with you.

At the moment we’re in Dunsborough, a place we come to a few times each year. It’s sort of a working holiday as we’ve got quite a few SIM meetings while we’re down here but there’s plenty of relaxation times inbetween. Tomorrow Michael’s preaching at the Dunsborough Church of Christ and then again next Sunday. We always stay with some great people from that church (Hi Win and George!) and they always look after us! (thanks!). We love staying on their farm and this time Kez is starting to notice things a lot more. She turns 9 months next week and she’s doing all sorts of fun things now and we think we’re hearing a ‘dadadada’ too! Today she got excited about the chooks (chickens for all non-Aussies) and tomorrow we’ll have a closer look at the sheep. It’s so different being here with her and a lot more fun!

Here’s some lovely shots so far.

This week the Illustration Friday topic is ‘dance’, not something I’ve had a lot to do with painting but these little fella’s look like they’re dancing. Introducing my beans. I started drawing them when I was in high school. They’re a cheery bunch who get around by bouncing (hence the reason they remind me of dance). I might share more about them at a later date.

This weeks PF theme is Automotive so here is my entry. We’re on a break down south at the moment and this is what we expected to do a lot of on our trip down. Stopping and starting! However, this was the only time we ended up stopping in the whole 2 and a half hour trip as Kez fell asleep shortly after this and slept until half an hour before we arrived! Amazing.

I’ve finally added a few piccies of our daughter Keziah to flickr. None of them show her whole face except the ones that will be on our brochures! She’s a cutey we think, feel free to click the flickr link on my sidebar.
