I’ve been watching the Australian Princess show for the past few weeks, firstly out of curiosity but gradually for it’s ‘ridiculous and laughable’ factor. It’s not the type of girls they’re trying to turn into a Princess that makes me laugh, it’s more to do with the strange and unrealistic world that aristocrats seem to live in.
It got me thinking, what would a REAL Aussie Princess be like anyway. Would she play Polo, use 16 different knives and forks, be chauffer driven or know how to address a Baronet? Probably not. She’d be more likely to play either Netball, Cricket, Surfing or Footy, enjoy a weekend Barbie with her paper plates and plastic forks, drive a rusty Datto and not even know what a Baronet is. Oh hang on, that’s what these girls are like.

We’ve finally set up our paypal account so I can start bidding on ebay and I’m having a ball doing so! I won my first round of bidding today and am expecting a CD in the mail. I’m pretty happy about my purchase as the CD I got is the latest Steven Curtis Chapman one. Got it for about half the price (incl postage) that I would pay at Koorong. I did get outbid by someone on a Wallabies Jersey but I’ll be trying that again soon! Great fun.

I was just wondering if we’ve forgotten poor Schapelle Corby sitting in her Bali prison. She pops up on the news every now and then but I don’t hear a lot of banter about her much nowadays. I check out an unofficial website for her every couple of days called schapelle.info and it seems to have a pretty good update of news on her case. You can still send her a letter or card at this address:
Schapelle Corby
C/- LPM Kerobokan Jl.
Tangkuban Perahu Kerobokan,
Denpasar 80117 Bali, INDONESIA
The site run by her sister Mercedes is also updated regularly and can be found here.

I was looking up something for my SIM work today and I came across this page that lists missions quotes. Here are a few of the ones that stood out to me.

“If ten men are carrying a log — nine of them on the little end and one at the heavy end — and you want to help, which end will you lift on?” — William Borden, as he reflected on the numbers of Christian workers in the U.S. as compared to those among unreached peoples in China

“This generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of souls on the earth!” — Keith Green

“Sympathy is no substitute for action.” — David Livingstone, missionary to Africa

Feel free to discuss what you think of these quotes.

I have another new feature on my blog. If you scroll down to the very bottom of the page, under the last post that can be viewed you will see it. It’s a ticker for our new little one. Just thought I’d point it out.

Thought I’d just let you all know that my Niger cards are still for sale. I’ve got quite a few left and I thought that perhaps they would make good Christmas Cards. The cost is still $8 per pack of four with four different hand painted designs per pack. If you’re interested, just drop me a line. The funds raised go to the famine work in Niger, West Africa. Here’s a sample of what’s in them as a reminder:

On Sunday night there was a very loud knock on the door. I was home alone so I generally don’t answer the door after hours unless I know who it is. Anyway, I got half way down the passage when a group of voices yelled out ‘Chicken Treat‘! My first thoughts were, ‘who on earth is dropping by and giving me Chicken Treat to eat?’ (for those non WA-ites, Chicken Treat is a local fast food company like Red Rooster). It took me a good minute to work out that the voices were’nt yelling out ‘Chicken Treat’ at all, they were calling ‘Trick or Treat!’. Now I know for sure that my pregnancy brain is still the same!(if you don’t know what that is, ask any woman who’s had a baby).
