Good news, my coughing sausage dog is no longer coughing BUT she did however give me a fright and fall of our bed in the dark yesterday morning! We only let her on for the last half hour before we get up (if she’s clean) but this time she misjudged the middle of the bed and went crashing to the ground. I was worried she’d hurt her back or something as she made no noise but it was only because she was in such shock from the sudden feeling of air rushing! She was fine apart from a little limping which she puts on for sympathy and bikkies (it usually works!).Poor silly sausgage.

In my role with SIM I run a prayer night once a month at my home in which young people are invited to come along and pray for missionaries. I don’t try to ‘jazz it up and make it sound youthy’ because I believe that if young people are serious they shouldn’t need the frills.
I’ve found it constantly difficult to get young people/adults to come along. There are always other reasons why not to, sometimes quite legitimate ones (who am I to judge?) but I wonder whether young people really understand the power of praying. In March I had 8 come along, I was thrilled. April no one came at all. This month we’ve split in two, one north of the river and one south. I had one come to mine and I’m hoping the rest of them went to the north one.
Anyone got any suggestions in drawing young people in to come along?

Today I read in our local Comment News paper that the Ashton Circus will be coming to Armdale! Yay! The council decided that there were no exotic animals in the show, only domesticated ones and therefore approved the visit. Nice to see a bit of sense from the council.

We spent all of Saturday at a wedding. Well, we left home at around 9.30am and got home at 1.30am the next morning! It was a good wedding, the bride was of course beautiful, the speeches of course went too long and the bridesmaids were gorgeous too. The result of this wedding? My sausage dog has a cough and a sore throat. How are these connected you ask? The poor little dog was locked in the house alone for the whole time we were out and we think she probably barked a lot. I haven’t heard her bark since we left! Needless to say, I gave her a lemon and honey drink so I hope she’ll be ok.
